Danboism の曱甴: 貧民百萬富翁

A movie using questions asked in "Who wants to be a millionaire?" to reflect a life of a Indian young man, Jamal Malik, who serves tea in call centre. He taken 20 million rupees from the show as he managed all questions to him on the show. No one was expected this to happen, from the residents, show host, to police, as he is known as a un-educated slumdog in India.

The movie starts with Jamal Malik being investigated by inspectors, accusing him of cheating in the show, "Who wants to be a millionaire?". Jamal was caught on the day when he won 10mil rupees, and sending for a rest before approaches to the the final question on the next day.

Jamal explains how he managed to answer all the questions. "It's destiny!" as what Jamal explained. There is million questions can asked, but almost all questions asked in the show, was the only answers Jamal knew from his life, nothing more than that.

How Jamal's knew the answers? The movie is conveyed in a series of flashbacks documenting the particulars of his childhood, on how he got the answers.

There is scenes of him obtaining actor's autograph, witnesses the death of his mom during Hindu-Muslim riots, forming the three musketeers (Jamal brother, Salim, and a girl named Latika) before he met gangster, Maman, who these children first known him as god, as he provide free foods for them.

Maman, used to provide food to street kids, in the return asking them to beg for money. To double the income, Maman also blinded the children. Salim and Jamal managed to run away, while Latika failed to escape from Maman control.

Two brothers, grow up in a way of travelling on top of trains, selling goods, pretending tours guide, and pickpocketing.

Jamal, unforgetting Latika, where he insists to go back to Mumbai to locate Latika...
